Growing up I always played sports. Football, basketball, soccer, baseball. You name it, I probably did it. When I got to high school, I decided to narrow it down to just basketball. Following high school, I went to my local college where I played basketball and football for three years. When I was done playing in college, I found myself in a weird position, for the first time in my life I didn’t have a sport to train for. I had always been the “skinny guy” throughout life and decided I wanted to change that, naturally this led to being in the gym and it didn’t take very long before I was hooked. I started training in 2013 weighing in at 185 pounds, which is slim for being 6’4”. I became obsessed with the gym, training as much as I possibly could. In 2015 I became a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise. I began personal training with what I knew, sports. I trained high school athletes who wanted to take their sports performance to the next level. In 2016 I discovered the world of competitive bodybuilding and prepped for my first show. I competed at the Northern Colorado Championships and took second in my Open Class. To most people that was a good placing, but being as competitive as I am, I knew I could do better, and now I was hooked. I competed the following year at the same show winning my Open Class and taking home the Overall Men’s Physique title. Later that year I took to the national level to compete for the chance to become a pro. I ended up taking second, missing my professional status by one point. Later that year I joined Atlas Nutrition as a Certified Fitness Coach, coaching both lifestyle and competition prep clients. Over the course of the past six years I have put on around 50 pounds of muscle and fitness has become more than a hobby, it is now a lifestyle.
My Coaching Style
As a coach, I coach the same way I was taught growing up. Hard work and discipline were two principals that were instilled in me from every coach I’ve ever had and that is the winning formula. We don’t use excuses, we don’t look for shortcuts, we just do the work and get results. This goes both ways between coach and client. I put in 100% and expect the same in return. I have been a recreational athlete, as well as competitive collegiate athlete. I have been the everyday person working 80+ hours a week just looking to stay in shape. I have been a competitive bodybuilder at the highest amateur level. I know what it takes to get the results we are looking for and how to push and guide others to do the same. If you are willing to put in the work, we will get you the results.
