Fitness has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t until after I was on my own that fitness evolved from a hobby to a lifestyle for me! Growing up, I was a dancer, track athlete, and basketball player. I loved team sports and I loved competition! When I graduated high school, I was lost because I no longer had a structured outlet for physical activity and had a difficult time finding friends who were also interested in being active. During this time, I put fitness on the back burner and never sought to make it a priority in my life. I started college with eventual hopes of attending law school and poured time into a lot of different activities. I gained a lot of weight my freshman year of college and struggled with a lot of self-esteem and anxiety. I needed to make a change, so I decided to take control of how I viewed myself and decided to try to develop healthy habits around fitness as a lifestyle. I joined a gym in my hometown and soon after started working there as a membership consultant. Once in the fitness environment, I surrounded myself with like-minded individuals and grew my love for fitness until I decided to become a trainer. After dipping my toes in the training world, I decided to compete in bikini competitions to satisfy my competitive nature. Following my first competition, I found that my passion was pursuing fitness and abandoned my hopes of one day becoming a lawyer. I decided that I wanted to become a coach to assist people in taking charge of their own lives and growing in all the ways I did (and more) over the process of competing and share my passion for health and fitness in all aspects, not just the physical!
